Why Strength Train?

Muscle is the engine that keeps the body moving. Strength training builds and conditions muscle while maintaining balance. One part gets out of alignment, out of balance or gets weak and it reduces performance to some degree. Weak muscles can also promote bad posture, which leads to many painful conditions including lower back pain, neck, shoulder, and hip problems. Most of these problems are associated with either lack of use or overuse-where job-related or recreational activities use certain muscles persistently without proper exercise and conditioning. Every muscle is a prime mover in some specific action. No tow muscles in the body have exactly the same function. When any one muscle is weak or injured, some stability and strength is lost along with a degree of movement.

Most people after the age of 40 lose about a quarter pound of muscle every year. Along with proper nutrition, strength training has been proven over time to be the one sure way to build, maintain and strengthen muscle.
