Houston, Texas, February 19, 2012 – Houston based PerSys Medical, the PerSys Medical Training Center, along with Hank’s Gym and various other sponsors, will host its 1st Annual Community Health and Safety Day focusing on emergency safety and general health. With February being Heart Awareness Month, activities will include CPR classes, first aid classes, stroke awareness, cancer prevention information, nutrition and fitness importance, and more. Fun for all ages will be provided including a bouncy house for kids along with the opportunity to meet the Houston Rockets’ Clutch and a chance to win game tickets from the Houston Aeros. The event is free and open to the public.
The event will cover emergency safety for the whole family and a visit with the local fire and police departments. M.D. Anderson will perform a puppet show educating kids on the dangers of smoking and they will have a booth spotlighting cancer prevention. There will also be a chance to win prizes suck as a Kindle Fire, iPod Shuffle, and more. Additionally, the Houston Rockets’ Clutch will be on hand part of the day and photos and fun.
This will be the first annual PerSys Medical & Hank’s Gym Community Health and Safety day. The event was created to educate local residents on personal/family safety and wellness, how to respond to various emergency situations, and the significance of maintaining an active lifestyle.
PerSys Medical is partnering with local organizations such as Hank’s Gym, the Houston Rockets, the Houston Aeros, MD Anderson Cancer Center, St. Lukes Hospital, Jimmy Johns Gourmet Sandwiches, Roadster Grill, and more. Together they will give the community the opportunity to receive free education on living a safer and healthier life.
Established in 1972, Hank’s has been committed to improving the quality of life for its Bellaire (and surrounding areas) members. Hank’s Gym specializes in personal training for all ages with programs such as Fit after Fifty, Youth Training, Sports Performance Training, Corporate Wellness, Boxing Training, and more. We have also implemented a Diabetic Program which focuses on sustaining healthy glucose/insulin levels through weight training. Our certified nutritionist will be on site to educate and answer questions about maintaining a healthy diet with tips on healthier food substitutions. A healthy diet and lifestyle are your best defenses in the fight against heart disease and obesity.
